Design & Inspiration: ‘Break Away’ is a stylish and unique full-size pocket square in silk and has been created in collaboration with leading ‘painter of speed’ John Ketchell. His semi-abstract impressionist style captures speed and drama at the same time as delivering accuracy of reproduction, such that the subject seems to burst into life.

For the original acrylic on canvas work, John was inspired by the excitement of professional cycle road racing with its foundations of speed, endurance and tactical cycling. John captures the drama of a Grand Tour break as the attacking riders attempt to escape the peleton.

Printed in Macclesfield, the home of English silk printing, the artwork is reproduced with a good balance of colour between the printed and reverse sides so the pocket square works perfectly with any fold. The image is framed by the pocket square’s pink border and blue hand-rolled & hand-sewn hem. 

'Break Away' is presented in a complimentary Otway & Orford branded gift box with its blueberry-coloured lid and pale blue base. Inside each box, the high-quality cycling silk pocket square is tissue-wrapped and accompanied by a card telling the story of the artist and his vibrant artwork.
