Design & Inspiration: ‘Blue Bird’ is a stylish and unique full-size pocket square in silk and has been created in collaboration with contemporary maritime artist Pierre Joubert. He is a man of the French Atlantic coast with a studio in the countryside and Pierre's work reflects this geographic balance.

The original oil on canvas artwork was inspired by a perfect regatta day with clear blue sky, friendly sea, good breeze and sleek yachts with their seemingly intertwined sails.

Printed in Macclesfield, the home of English silk printing, the artwork is reproduced with a good balance of colour between the printed and reverse sides so the pocket square works perfectly with any fold. The image is framed by the pocket square’s bluey green border and deep blue hand-rolled & hand-sewn hem. 

'Blue Bird' is presented in a complimentary Otway & Orford branded gift box with its blueberry-coloured lid and pale blue base. Inside each box, the high-quality sailing silk pocket square is tissue-wrapped and accompanied by a card telling the story of the artist and his vibrant artwork.
