It was 2020 and the pandemic caused the world to go into lockdown. I was working in London, commuting every day to my design job at a fashion retailer. Then everything came to a stop, and I suddenly found myself spending all my time at home. I looked around and saw odd bits and pieces which I had gathered since I first moved out of my mother’s house 5 years prior. Mismatched pieces of decor scattered about, no consistent theme or even a decent coaster in sight.
As a print designer, I had experience in creating colour palettes and product development which I have transferred into what I make now. This helped me expand my product range, which started with coasters and now it’s trays, vases, platers, trinket dishes, candle holders, utensil holders and even mirrors. I love to challenge myself though, and I’m now taking the next step in my journey and learning Pottery, to introduce food safe additions to my store.
My dream is for Madebypaulinauk to become a one stop shop for all things home decor, to be stocked in shops across the UK, and to share it all with you. I would love it if you followed along with this journey.
